Calypso Queen Caribbean Chinese Cuisine

I dined in today 1st time at Calypso and hands down had the very best Chili Chicken!...the meat was crunchy on outside and so very tender inside. Also had wonderful starters of shrimp rolls and crab wontons as appetizers. The service experience was amazing and our waitress friendly. Definitely will be returning very soon to enjoy more of the menu here. Calypso has music on and this joint really rocks with flavor.

I was looking for a Guyanese-style Chinese food restaurant. The write-up was good, so I decided to try it. Very pleased. The deep-fried wings were 5 out of 5. For sure, I'll try this place again. I got the mixed meat fried rice and mixed chow mein, and deep-fried wings.

I saw online that Calypso Queen was highly recommended for Caribbean Chinese food so I gave it a try. We got the Calypso Queen Chow Mein, Calypso Queen Spicy Beef, Pepper Shrimp and because our order was $40+, a free order of wings too. Since this was my first time trying Caribbean Chinese food, I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the flavours and even more so the quantity/value. The dishes themselves were generous in portion size, and come with a side of white rice too. The flavours were pretty good. The beef slices was a bit tough, and the noodles were a bit more broken up than I like. The favourite was surprisingly the wings and the hot sauce they give on the side. I'll be back to try some more things.

Love it here it’s my go to in Whitby!! Food is great, service is great, and loved our server Angelena, super helpful and kind 10/10 experience!

Ordered the pepper shrimp fried rice and the calypso queen fried rice. Added a shrimp roll on the side, a little pricy ($2.50) The pepper shrimp fried rice was much better. Calypso queen fried was a tad salty, chicken was slight dry and blan I was expecting something more brined and juicy! (The little pepper sauce they give on the side adds a nice flavour though so I added some ontop) I will def be back to try more from the menu! Service was great and the inside has lots of seating for dine in! Thank you!

The flavours that I'm expecting to taste when I eat Guyanese Chinese food are there. The chicken wings have a ridiculous crunch (still thinking about them lol). No complaints here. Just make sure you put on some gold to eat this food, it's only right.
